Common Rottweiler Puppies Allergies

Rottweilers are prone to seasonal allergies such as pollen and weeds or other particles such as dust mites and mold. Flea saliva is another cause of Rottweiler Puppies allergies, as they are very sensitive to the protein in the saliva and the allergic reaction comes from the flea bite. Just like us, they can be allergic to certain shampoos, household cleaners and chemical garden products.

Common symptoms of Rottweiler Puppies allergies

The symptoms that a rottweiler puppy will display when affected from an allergy may include excessive itching or scratching, constant head shaking or pawing, skin irritations or rashes and patchy hair loss. Less regular symptoms are vomiting, discharge from the eyes or nose, flatulence, coughing and scaly or flaky skin. Some rottweiler puppies may show behavioral problems stemming from their allergic reaction, but this is quite rare.

It is compulsory to work out what is causing your Rottweiler’s allergy. A flea allergy is easy to find by checking his / her coat for fleas, and this can then be treated with a preventative application of an adequate product. An inhalant allergy can be established through allergy skin tests administered by your rottie’s vet. If you think that the allergy is caused by the puppies diet, an elimination diet or switching to a hypoallergenic dog food may help.

A healthy Rottweiler Puppy starts with a healthy daily diet

Despite the criticism the breed has received in recent years, the Rottweiler remains a popular choice of pet. All dogs are prone to canine allergies, and the Rottweiler is a breed that is susceptible to them as well.
A healthy Rottweiler Puppies diet will help maintain your pet in good health. His ideal diet should be comprised of a feed that includes meat, fish, milk, vegetables and cereals. Rottweilers can live on a vegetarian diet and be just as healthy as a meat-eating Rottweiler, but you must make sure you provide the required balance of protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. Meat-eating pets on the B.A.R.F. diet or similar feeding regimen should be fed raw meat more often. Meat should always be of high quality to avoid risk.

Rottweiler Puppies Should be fed smaller meals often throughout the day

A rottweiler puppy should be ideally fed three or four times per day up to the age of 10 to 12 months. An adult Rottweiler should be fed twice in a day unless a vet has recommended once per day for health reasons. A good and healthy routine for your pet is mandatory, and breakfast and dinnertime feeding times work well. The growth from puppy food to adult food should be slow and gradual, at a point when you are sure that your dog has reached 90 percent of its full weight, this will avoid any digestive problems.

Know how to handle and train your rottweiler while it is still a puppy…

The exceptional strength that your Rottweiler Puppies will soon possess is quite a big risk factor if socialization and conditioning while young is neglected. It is for this reason only that breed experts recommend that the formal training and extensive socialization are essential for all Rottweiler Puppies. They love their master and people in general and may behave in a clownish and childish manner towards family and friends, but they are also protective of their territory and home and do not welcome strangers until they are properly introduced to them. Obedience training and socialization are a must.

Rottweilers are strong for a reason

Some rottweiler breeders have found that their rottweilers are in particular suited to move stubborn stock that conveniently ignores Border Collies, Kelpies, and others. These breeds use their bodies to physically force the stubborn animal to do its bidding if important. When working with sheep they show a gathering/fetching style and reams and creates directions easily. It drives sheep in the right direction with ease. In some of the cases Rottweilers have begun herding cattle without any experience at all. If worked on the same stock for any length of time the dog tends to develop a kind of bond with the stock and will become quite affectionate and friendly with them as long as they do as it says.

Easy tips for Rottweiler Puppy Maintenance

Here are few easy tips you can follow to maintain a healthy rottweiler puppy. Brush your dogs’ topcoat and undercoat only. The same goes for bathing. They are average shedders and lose their top and undercoat twice a year. Be regular with vaccinations. Trim their nails every two to three weeks.

Remember that a Rottweiler has a strong desire to secure his / her home and family. Don’t leave her alone with unfamiliar people in your home; if the dog perceives an unfamiliar visitor as a burglar, she may become aggressive. Allow your Rottweiler Puppy to slowly and gradually become familiar with visitors.

Rottweiler Puppy Exercise Regimen

Walk or run your Rottweiler Puppy for at least 30 minutes a day, four times per week or more. This breed is very active in comparison to other breeds of dogs and will also need a large backyard to romp around in. If a Rottweiler becomes bored or doesn’t have enough activity, she may become destructive and aggressive. Keep your Rottweiler on a leash when away from your home. This breed can be protective with unfamiliar dogs, although initial training and socialization may curb this tendency. Play around with your Rottweiler puppy often. They love to run, swim and play catch. Remember; don’t over exercise your pet.

First things first – Socialize and Train your Rottweiler Puppy

Rottweilers are intelligent and faithful dogs that are very close to their owners. Although this breed is known to be powerful and may seem intimidating, Rottweiler is not necessarily aggressive if they are imparted proper socialization and training. It is essential to socialize and mix around your Rottweiler puppy with children, other animals and people at a young age. Be prepared to train your dog for a solid one year if you want him / her to be a well-behaved, productive member of society.

Keep maintenance tools readily available at home

Keeps things like electric dog Clippers, dog behavior books, dog balls, dog beds, dog bones, dog brushes, dog collars, dog conditioner , dog dishes, dog flea/tick control medication, dog grooming sprays, dog leashes, dog Shampoo, dog training aids, dog training leashes/collars, dog shampoo and flying discs at home.

Practice preventative health maintenance

Vaccinate your Rottweiler Puppy and follow up with your veterinarian and yearly booster vaccinations to maintain the dog’s immunity to diseases. Worm the adult rottweiler at least every three months and consult with your veterinarian about de-fleeing products. Always feed your Rottweiler high-quality dog food comprised of natural high quality proteins. The first ingredient should be meat if you want a good product. Crude protein should be not less than 30 percent and crude fat should be not less than 20 percent. Keep this mind, to keep your Rottweiler healthy and fit.

Diet and exercise are a key foundation to your Rottweiler Puppies health

Feed your rottweiler puppy properly. Vaccinate regularly. Understand that Rottweiler Puppies are open and susceptible to certain health problems, such as hip and elbow dysplasia (a malformation of the joints), paneosteitis (a rotating lameness), osteochondrosis dissecans (a bone disease that causes lameness and arthritis), Von Willebrand’s Disease (a bleeding disorder), bloat, heart disease and allergies. You can expect an adult male Rottweiler to grow to between 24 and 27 inches in height and weigh between about 95 and 130 pounds. Females usually will grow to between 22 and 25 inches and will weigh between 85 and 115 pounds.

Your Rottweiler Puppy will be with your family for years to come, and you will be their personal trainer

Your Rottweiler puppies average life expectancy is full 10 to 15 years. During this time you will experience a wealth of memory building with your four legged family member. Constantly keep yourself informed on the internet to learn more about the latest health trends as well as hip and elbow dysplasia.

Train your Rottweiler.. They love the to have a sense of purpose!

The Rottweiler does not bark in the normal course unless there is just a cause or a reason. This breed can generally be trained to obey with positive reinforcement. However, you may need to use a sharp and strict tone if your dog is being stubborn. Closely monitor your Rottweiler Puppy at first while playing with small children. They have a normal tendency to “herd” and take care of children. They love their master and have natural instinct to guard them.

Rottweiler Puppies With Health / Hip Guarantees

The German Rottweiler is reasonably healthy, disease-free breed. As with most of the large breeds, hip dysplasia can be a problem. Because of this the various Rottweiler Breed clubs have had x-ray testing regimes in place for many years. Osteochondritis Dissecans, affecting the shoulder joints, can also be a problem due to the rottweiler puppies propensity for a rapid growth rate. A reputable rottweiler breeder will have the hips and elbows of all breeding stock x-rayed and read by a recognized expert. They have certificates that their breeding animals do not have entropion or ectropion and that they have full and complete dentition with a scissor bite.

As with any of the breed, hereditary conditions occur in some lines. Due to over breeding, cancer has become one of the leading causes of early death in Rottweilers. For mysterious reasons, Rottweiler puppies are more susceptible than other breeds to become infected with parvovirus, a highly contagious and deadly disease of puppies and young dogs. Parvovirus can be easily prevented by adhering to a veterinarian’s recommended vaccine protocol.

Help your Rottweiler Puppy stay healthy by providing a sound diet and ample exercise routine

Rottweilers puppies and adult rottweilers are prone to obesity. Some of the consequences of obesity can be grave, including arthritis, breathing difficulties, heart failure, skin disease, reproductive problems, diabetes, reduced resistance to disease and overheating caused by the thick jacket of fat under the skin.

German Rottweiler Puppies Schutzhund working style

Only true German Rottweiler Puppies have the natural instincts and gathering style with a strong desire to control necessary for working. They generally show a loose-eye and have a huge amount of force while working well off the stock. They are aware of their power make much use of their ability to intimidate. Well bred schutzhund Rottweiler Puppies often carry their head on an even plane with the back or carries the head up but with the neck and shoulders slightly lowered or bowed. Some of the females lower the entire front end slightly when using the eye. Males also do this when working far off the stock in an open air field, but this is rarely seen in males when working in confined spaces or restricted such as stock yards.

Rottweiler Puppies working traits outside of the sport of Schutzhund

The Rottweiler has a reasonably good natural sense of balance, force-barks when essential, and when working cattle uses a very intimidating charge. There is a natural and normal change in forcefulness and energy when herding sheep. When they are working cattle it may use its body and shoulders and for this reason should be used on horned stock with caution. The Rottweiler, when working cattle, searches out the most dominant animal and challenges it. After proving its control over that animal it settles back and tends to its work.

Typical Rottweiler Puppies temperament traits as they apply to family life

Typical German rottweiler puppies are good-natured, docile in basic disposition, very devoted, obedient, biddable and eager to work. Their appearance and look is natural and rustic, their behavior is self-assured, steady and fearless. They react to their surroundings with great alertness. The rottweiler is basically a calm, confident, intelligent and courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships. It is one of the best pets in the world for a family to have for all of the reasons stated above.

Well bred rottweiler puppies have a way of reacting to situations that is perfectly suited for family environments

A Rottweiler is very self-confident and responds quietly and with a wait-and-see attitude to influences in its surrounding and environment. Rottweiler puppies have an inherent desire in them, to protect home and family, and are an intelligent dog of extreme hardness and adaptability with a strong willingness to work. This makes them especially suited as a companion, guardian, friend and general all-purpose dog. There is nothing better after a hard day’s work than playing with this intelligent dog.

Rottweiler Puppies grow up to be incredible guardians of their new families and property

Rottweiler is a powerful and a strong breed with well developed and defined genetic guarding instincts. As with any other breed of dogs, potentially dangerous behavior and fanatic attitude in Rottweilers usually results from irresponsible ownership of this amazing breed of dogs such as abuse, neglect, or lack of socialization and adequate training.

The Rottweiler is a medium to large size breed of domestic dogs that are originally from Rottweil, Germany. The dogs were actually known as “Rottweil butchers’ dogs” (German: Rottweiler Metzgerhund) because they were used to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat and other products to the market area. Some records indicate that earlier Rottweilers may have also been used for hunting; there attacks were fatal, although the modern Rottweiler has a relatively low hunting instinct.

Typically, rottweiler puppies and adults were usually employed in their traditional roles until the mid-19th century when the railroads replaced droving for getting livestock to market. Although it is a versatile breed of dog used in recent times for a variety of purposes, the Rottweiler is primarily known as one of the oldest herding breeds among dogs.

Modern uses for the Rottweiler Breed
